Winter is one of our busiest times as clients either want their planning application submitting before the end of the year, or want to review their designs with family over the Christmas break.
Christmas came early for 4 of our clients when their Planning applications for their dream homes were approved just before Christmas!
Planning as always has been a whirlwind of excitement – we had 2 nail-biting planning committees in December where we presented 2 of our projects for the final decision… both were approved and received amazing comments from the councillors – 1 project is a new-build super home in the Barrowford Open Countryside, and the 2nd project is a new-build eco-home in the Wheatley Lane Road / Carr Hall Conservation Area.
The 2 other planning approvals include a large highly contemporary extension to a building of townscape merit in Wiswell, Ribble Valley; and a large barn conversion with outbuildings in Blacko, Pendle.
We are looking forward to commencing RIBA stage 4 and managing the construction stages in 2024 for these client’s dream homes.
In design news, we have presented a house transformation to a rural farmhouse in Barley located in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with some of the best views of Pendle hill we have ever seen! The house is a Non-Designated Heritage asset and the design rationalises the internal and external spaces, whilst creating a unique upside down house and panoramic views of Ogden Clough and Black Moss reservoirs.
In practice news, September saw our new green branding refresh and we finally got round to updating our website with some of our recent projects.
In construction news, a main contractor has been appointed for Higher Newfield Edge – a 9000sqft super home in Ribble Valley; and we are currently tendering a new build eco-home in Edenfield.
The end of 2023 has also seen us win a number of exciting projects to commence in 2024 including a new-build dream home in Higherford, a beautiful barn conversion on the Huntroyde estate, and a tourism scheme in Hurst Green.
With an exciting end to the year, we are all looking forward to what 2024 will bring!
